Suzy’s Lovers

With Suzy's Lovers I continue my fascination with fabric as a means to the end of the human condition: decoding body language.
The series is as much about lost loves: (a quintet which has an unfortunate ending for all but the last voice of its five participants ) as it is about the ability of the photographic medium to provide a sense of continuity (look carefully and you will find Sontag and Wenders).
It is the unbuttoning, the thread, the sleeve, the pin falling and being heard which will stay beyond memory. So after a farewell we will hold the last worn membrane close and smell the departed's presence a while longer. Cloth hovers as much as it seduces and protects.
This is how we are mostly remembered.
